The Mid-Atlantic Food Cooperative Alliance (MAFCA) exists for the mutual benefit of its members and the greater community in which we live.

Our purpose is to grow the cooperative economy, provide education about co-ops, and build a sustainable and equitable system of healthy, local food production, distribution, and consumption.

We are 31 food co-ops, buying clubs, and start-up efforts in 6 states (DE, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA) with aggregate annual sales of over $150 million dollars.  We meet several times a year at food cooperatives in the mid-Atlantic region and communicate regularly via our listserv.

Anyone who is interested in starting a food cooperative or growing an existing food cooperative is welcome to join our meetings and our listserv. Contact us at info@mafca.coop to join the listserv and communicate with other food coops in the region--ask questions, get advice!
